Wendy Demarzio is the founder and Program Director of Counseling and Advocacy Associates.  Wendy obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work in 1996 from the State University of New York at Binghamton.  She continued her professional development and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2002.

A few words from Wendy:

“I founded Counseling and Advocacy Associates in 2008.  At that time, my mission was to support families who were experiencing challenges with their children and help them achieve their goals for a happier, more successful family life. Soon thereafter, I realized we would best serve our community by creating two distinct behavioral health teams of professionals. Today,  I am proud to present these teams to you.

Clinically Licensed Social Worker’s and Licensed Professional Counselors oversee our Qualified Mental Health Professionals who remain committed and available to help address the challenges that mental health diagnosis present. In addition, we have several licensed Board Certified Behavior Analysts that guide our passionate Registered Behavior Technicians who are trained to address the specific needs a diagnosis of autism and related neurological disabilities presents. We are excited to be able to provide ABA services both in the home and in the clinic setting! These two teams often work together as we address the needs of individuals who have dual diagnosis.

Nearly a decade ago, we launched our Sponsored Residential Program which allows us to continue to support  individuals who have developmental disabilities into adulthood.  Today, this is our fastest growing program. It is our pleasure to be a part of the process that allows these individuals to enjoy their best life filled with meaningful days.

My vision sparked the beginning of this fabulous company and now my staff’s professional dedication continues it. Thank you for trusting us with those who matter most to you. Be assured, they greatly matter greatly to us as well.”

When not in the office, Wendy can be found enjoying time with her two boys who especially like water activities.  When she is not with her boys you can find her on the pickleball court or  golf course, loving the great state of Virginia and the beautiful climate which enables her to swing the paddle and club nearly all year long.
